96 Mustang GT BBK Headers Hitting Chasis
I have a 96 Mustang GT with bbk shorty headers & Im having a problem with the headers hitting the chassis. I have replaced the motor & transmission mounts twice & this keeps happening. When I put new mounts in the problem goes away for a couple weeks but then it comes back. Has anyone had this happened? What could I do to stop this problem?

I dont have the stock manifolds. I dont know if the car has ever been in an accident. I bought it like 6 months ago. I think there is some gain with these headers. Just wanted to know if someone had this happened to them. Thank you.

I have had this problem most likely your car has been in an accident, and the frame rails could be pushed back. When mine had this problem I replaced my motor mounts with urethane ones and it fixed the problem by stiffening it up not allowing the motor to move as much

It looks like the problem with mine is that the engine sits lower than usual probably due to a previous accident. I put some spacers where the right motor mounts sit in the chassis & that stopped the header from hitting the chassis. So, I figured I need to find some mounts that will raise my engine height for like 1/8". I dont think having that 1/8" spacer permanently is a good idea.
