(Will fit earlier 2V engines (1991-2000), requires RH chain guide dowel pin hole to be drilled and tapped for a reducing thread insert with 6mm x 1.00 internal threads)

Will I have to worry about this even if I am using the 04 heads?
No you will not, I dont have that on my 96 either

Alright well that answers most my questions, I just have the last one about the crankshaft gears. Should I go adjustable or the non-adjustable? I really do not know anything about tweaking that kind of thing, so I would probably just leave it at stock spec if I were to get the adjustable. Unless there was something to gain by adjusting it?

Right now I'm running completely stock '04 heads, but I did have the machinist install some modified intake valves to fit larger cams in the future. For now I'm sticking with the stock cams, but could the adjustable crankshaft sprockets benefit me now or in the future with more aggressive cams?

Thank you for your help.

The non adjustable will be fine unless you are wanting to degree your cams in when they are installed. Between the cams and the gears being out of spec I've read where one or both cams can be 2 or 3 degrees off. So if you was to degree both cams in it could be worth a couple of HP depending how far they are out of spec if at all. I've also read on this site that some builders prefer to file the keyway of the stock gear instead of using adjustable gears, because if either gear was to come loose it would ruin at least one side of your engine if not both. On my engine the keyways are filed.

Thanks for the info, I went with the trick flow kit w/ non-adjustable crankshaft gears.

Has anyone had luck with aftermarket timing sets? I'd just be really weary about running anything but OEM when it came to chains and guides, i can see cheap kits just being a head ache.

I was weary about going aftermarket as well, but trick flow is a good brand, and their gears are made of better quality metal than ford oem. My kit is scheduled to arrive tonight, so I will let you know how it runs after its all put back together.
