Ok so im new to the whole forum thing. Can anyone give me some help, when i took my car to the drag strip the first time this year it spun really bad, so came home and changed upper and lower control arms as well as new shocks and traction shocks (?) ....so i went back to the track this week. The car didn't spin but was very sluggish through first gear when i hit second seemed like power was very much there ????? Any help appreciated.....

if the car is an auto, were you footbraking the car, and getting the RPM up? If so, this can actually pull timing, and give you less power, try just sitting at the lights, and when you see the 3rd yellow, mash the gas!...this may help alot, or create some traction issues, but with your suspension I think it should hook pretty decent. What this does is flash the converter, allowing it to get to its lockup RPM much quicker, and with out making the car move much.. almost like hitting the gas, and dumping the clutch at the same time on a manual it doesnt move until the clutch is out, but the RPMs are already up.. With this it should put you at about 2400 RPM off the line, getting you closer to your powerband. Another problem could be that with stock gears, and the new found traction, its just bogging the car...
Jmod~ its a thing that is done to the valve body in the transmission, it opens up some fluid passage ways, and removes some springs, thus making the car shift MUCH firmer, and quicker. These firm shifts actually prolong the life of the trans because it eliminates alot of the slippage that manufacturers use to create a "comfy" ride.

thanks for the info, what does your car run with the 3.73s ? is it even worth the jump from a 3.27 gear that i currently have....my ultimate goal is low 13.00s or high 12's and still be very streetable.....is this possible on a limited budget?

3.73s did wake it up quite a bit, however, i had plans of the build in my sig, if was to do it over I would look into 3.90's. but I'm going to be at roughly 470-500HP in the next few months. and with that much power, the 4.10s would be "too much gear" for my tastes.
If your trying to stay on a budget, 4.10s, tune, and a 75 shot should get you pretty close. especially if you have drag radials. and still be extremely reliable, and VERY streetable.
