************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

i try to use the updater and i get another error message which i cant understand. does anybody know what the deal is? i am not that great at computer stuff like this and i am completely confused! i spent 420$ for the damn thing and i cant even get it to work!!

Not to sound like a smartass, but have you called SCT and heard what they have to say? The only person on here that I think has a chance of comprehending this is Cliffyk...

It looks like you got a corrupted install. There is a file that your live link program is looking for, and it cannot find it. Do a search for system.data.linq. I would just uninstall the live link program, and clean up all the registry links, and download a new live link.

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.Linq, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Seems pretty clear-cut to me..
Code:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly, Version=3.5
Have you updated your .net runtimes? I would simply do this through windows update (in the control panel if you use Vista or Win7, using the IE browser if in XP, its under the tools menu dropdown)

It's looking for the .net 3.5 namespace definition, and not finding it.

The livelink program checks for the net plug-ins. Sounds like a re-install of the net plug in should fix it. If not, remove and reinstall the live link program, AFTER you do a windows update.

It will likely work right after you update the .net framework without re-installing live link. I assume this is XP then? Do the 3.5 one that should list in the updates(optional section I believe). I'd suggest doing them all when you get time, likely piecemeal as something is likely to go wrong should you try to do them all at once depending on how long it has been since you've updated. Both optional(minus language packs) and critical.

It's referring to the windows installer service.
