Thumbs up New guy needs help about drop

Hey guys I got a 97 cobra bone stock and I want to do a make over. Im getting some new rims 18x7.5. All around. I want a good low stance. Would a 2" drop with that size rims look good? Will I be rubbing? I'm not planning on racing just want a nice show car. Does anyone have a picture? That'll be greatly appreciated. I also am thinking of putting a minor maybe .5 to 1" spacer in the rear for that stagered look. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

I am curious, why 7.5" wheels? The stock wheels are 8" and most people toss those and get 9", or a staggered set 9" up front and 10"+ in the back. IMHO it's going to look a bit odd with those skinny wheels, particularly in the rear with skinny wheels and big spacers. But as I would never use spacers in the first I am probably the wrong fellow to say.

Whether the tires rub is more dependent on the tire size than the wheel size--what size are the tires?

I decided to keep the starfish 8". But I want a new look so I'm going to have them painted. Not sure what color would go good with the black stripe silver paint though. What you guys think? Springs and cc plates coming in soon. Going with a 2" drop. I think I'm going to spacer the rear only at the most 1". Should look ok

Nothing meaner looking on a cobra with some 10's in the rear. The staggered look gives the rear view an absolutely incredible look.

If you're going to have them painted paint them black.. Personally I would just go with some new rims 18x9 front & 18x10 back, gives it a mean look with wide rims and fat tires out back, as for the tires put some 255's for the front and 295's for the rear shouldn't have any rubbing with a 2" drop & that setup.

As for getting new rims. I might have to wait for cash to flow in for now I'm going to paint the rims drop and space rear. For a quick n not to pricey new look. Thanks guys

15x10s with a 28 inch tire

OP: If you do get new rims just get 18x9s up front and 18x10s in the back and skip the wheel spacer all together IMO.

Save your cash until you can get the staggered look, 18x9 Front and 18x10 Rear. By the time you get the wheels cleaned, dismounted, painted and re-mounted you won't save much money, and definitely will take longer.

What color is your car? If you insist on painting the wheels, I would do black with stripes to match the car.
