The car has an svt focus 255 with the stock regulator. Could a hose of some sort on the fuel pump have fallen off in the tank and make this happen? Is the 255 too much pump for a factory regulator?

Maybe I should start by asking is this normal? I always thought fuel pressure was supposed to be constant.

I think you're right, but should it be fluctuating that much?

I showed the vid to a mechanic and he said that's way too low and something is wrong. He said it could by a dying pump or maybe like I said a line coming off in the tank. I'm still curious to see what pressure its supposed to run at though. also wondering if the 255 is too much pump for the factory regulator.

I also very much agree with this view.

The mechanic is trying to get your money. It is normal fuel pressure and the stock regulator is fine with a 255.

Na he's a good friend of mine, he knows I wouldn't pay his *** lol. Isn't stock fuel pressure supposed to be closer to 40? Does anyone have a gauge that can hook it up to a good running new edge Stang? I'm about to drop my gas tank to look at the lines because of this.

Maybe I should explain why I was even looking at my fuel pressure. The car has trouble starting cold, it will fire up but stall right out unless I hit the gas. I have to hold the gas for a few seconds and then its fine. Runs normal. Starts fine warm and if it was running that day at some point a couple hours earlier. It also hesitates at a higher rpm if I give it more than half throttle. This high rpm I'm talking neutral, not under load, as I have a new clutch in the car as well as this engine so I can't rip on it yet. The motor had a dyno tune done in the car it came from so I loaded that tune to my computer. The only difference from.the actual dyno setup to mine is I have a different set of udp on the car and I'm running magnaflow cats he was running no cats. I don't think udp and cats would cause this issue so before I bring it to the tuner again I want to be sure everything I can fix myself is good. Aka a fuel problem.
