SC intake pipe
Hey all,
I was wondering, is there a reason why the filter and maf are down in the wheel well so far with the vortech kit? I would like to replace the plastic pipe and flexbellows wit some 3in ss pipe and have the filter only in the wheel well, sort of like a cold air kit. Is there any reason any one knows why I can't do that. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

Its way the kits are designed, I'm assuming this is a draw thru MAF setup and non intercooled. Whenver you mess with the MAF on a SC application with location and clocking the car will need to be retuned.

Thanks, figured moving the maf would hose the tune, but I never got to the tuning point. I had a gasket leak and had to tear everything down to fix, so now I am reinstalling and now would be the time to move things. I have a power pipe but I've heard they are a pita to install, so I thought a slightly smalle straighter pipe could work.
