Btw, the estimate for the time-sert repair came in around $175, although I'm providing the tool.
All 8 cylinders?

Its mechanism and accuracy would not likely be harmed by using it to remove the plugs, it's just not in my nature...
What brand and where did you get that socket? Do you think thats deep enough for the 4v plug wells?

It's a standard 3/8" drive socket, so it will work with any extension--having had to fish sockets out of plug wells more than once over the year I secure it to the extension with electrical tape.

I got it from Norwalk Tools ($21.95), however if you buy it through their eBay account they offer free shipping. They were cool and refunded the shipping charges when I brought this to their attention.

While talking about spark plug tools I thought I'd share this. A tool I have come to rely on, for removing torn/stuck boots, and stuck plug sockets, etc. from plug wells is a pair of fish hook removal pliers:

Get the Baker brand in stainless if you can, best there is and made in the USA to boot. I have had mine for at least 30 years.

Most sporting goods store will have them...

Just cylinder #7. But they'll be removing and replacing the other spark plugs to ensure they're not damaged (for an additional $50)

Looking at the picture, I believe that's just rain droplets.
