Hey guys,
I'm running low on time with this shop im working with to get my new shifter installed and swapped from a prior hack job.

I am having a hard time locating (2) things. 1) The wire/color wires for the traction control to attach to the new shifter.

2)The proper wire/color for the courtesy lamp for the gear shift indicator.

I have a 2001 ford mustang GT 4.6 SOHC

Automatic I assume (gear shift indicator).

The traction control switch is not part of the shifter, do you mean the transmission control switch--the switch that enables or disabled overdrive (4th gear)? Here is the wiring diagram for that switch:



The wires for the gear indicator illumination will most likely be light blue/red for + and black for ground--I cannot find any diagram for that lamp.

THank you cliff.... I coppied something similar to this out of the ford manual from the delaership and the guy who was helping me work on this.. said the TCS is not the O/D.. its the Traction control. I told him I didnt think so, that the "TSS" in the ford book refered to that as the "TRACTION STABILITY SYSTEM". Plug C301 is what I am after... what is the location of this plug? And the lightblue/red.. even in the FORD book I couldnt tell if that belonged into the same plug C301 or not.

MY O/D light is off all the time. What could they have donw in the past with this gear vendors unit?

I still cannot find anything about the indicator illumination lamp--this happens, annoyingly , in the shop manuals when they feel something will be "in-your-face" obvious when working on an intact vehicle...
