Question Help! 4R70W shift problems

Hi I have a 1996 mustang GT that has shifting problems. it dosent shift into 2nd gear until about 4 grand and if you kick it down at highway speeds it tries to shift into 1st gear but cannot because it basically finds neutral until you hit the rev limiter. It has a brand new rebuilt trans less than a thousand miles ago. if anyone knows what would cause this the help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

If it was done by a reputable shop take it back! There should be some kind of warranty.

my mechanic sent it out to a reputable private transmission shop that has done many, many rebuilds. but the owner/mechanic passed away shortly after so the shop closed down.
