Its been awhile since anyone posted here, I figured I'd just give an update. I just sold my bike so I've got about $2500 to put down on a car. I have an old 88 Dakota to trade in, hopefully with some hassling I'll get a grand for it, which brings me to $3500 down. I dont want to finance more than $6k, so I'm at $9500 TOTAL for a new car.

The more I looked into it, the more I landed on a new edge. This car is going to be a daily driver, and a foxbody going on 25 years old doesnt make a whole lot of sense when you have this much money on the line.

So heres another question, what should I be paying for a 70/80k mile New Edge, considering its clean? I havent seen kbb value them higher than $8500 with these miles (in excellent condition), and I live in MA so this is the off-season for Stangs. Dealers are lucky to even make blue book sometimes, and this being off-season what do you guys think I should aim at for price?

Whatever I buy has got to be clean, so consider that a given. I dont want to cross much higher than 80k miles. Theres an 02 with 86k that the dealers asking $6999 for, and another 02 where hes asking $8995 for with the same miles. Also an 04 with 72k miles that hes asking $9995 for. Isnt a whole lot to choose from, but all these prices seem a bit high. What do you guys think?

Thanks alot

I just bought my 2000 with the listed mods and 150K miles for $4k. Definitely on the high mile side, but I'm lovin her so far. A few minor repairs, but aside from that she's runnin great. My oh my how I've missed havin a stang. On a side note, the best way to find the going price for cars in your area is blue book and craigslist. Just my $.02.

I wouldnt have any issues buying a high mileage car, 4.6 2v and 4vs alike are readily available at junkyards and can be picked up rather cheap in my area.

I have a 2004 GT and i ran a 12.8@107 n/a. my mods were L/T headers, o/r h-pipe, flows (dumped) 4.10 gears, cms stage 1 n/a cams, k&n intake and accufab plenum and T/B and m/t drag radials. i netted 280ish whp if i remember correctly (don't have the dyno sheet on me).

with a 125shot nx plate kit i wanna say i dyno'd at around 410whp and ran a 11.7@114. the only suspension i had done was fox body front springs up front. everything else was stock.

I ran my stock engined late-03 auto GT with a setup suspension to 12.81 on street tires and then was running CONSISTENT 12.05 to 12.12s after my rebuild and 4V conversion. Setting up the suspension and drivetrain is more is more beneficial to running lower times on these cars then running more HP.

OP for the power goal you mentioned at the start of this thread read through this.

post #1 has his list of mods and post #41 shows his results after the cam install and tune.
