Default new guy with a 2000 gt

hi there...i am a new member with a recently acquired 2000 gt. actually, it was acquired for my son for his 18th birthday. lucky kid. anyway, it is making some unpleasant whining noises from the rear end, and i plan to swap out the rear for a good used one. so my question is this: will one from a 95 gt fit in my 2000 gt? thanks in advance for your responses.

It will but the 95 is 3/4" shorter and if stock has a different gear ratio. It will also throw off the speedo unless you can calibrate it.

Just have the 00 fixed.

If you are doing the junk yard rearend thing yo need to find one from a 99/04 GT.
Like Mike said the older 8.8 rearends bolt in but when you put your rear tires back on it will look horrible because the tires will be sucked into the wheel well

Good advice, thanks. Had no idea they were different sizes.
