That's about the standard price, good looking out though.

This guy said he does these all day long. He bought a load of them so he can sell them for cheep. Said if he doesn't have one, give him two days and he will. 700+300 core. Stock rebuilt T45.
That's great thanks. I don't know how you guys find these people I have looked everywhere. And I found a hand full of people and called them for a quote on what I want and never once got a call back.

This guy seems pretty straight up. Kinda folks I love to deal with. I was just lookin for a tranny myself as mine grinds going into third and has NO 5th. Tho, after a fluid change, I don't see the third grind much any more.

My experience with rebuilt trannies is a nightmare. My stock T45 lasted for about 200 passes on the dragstrip with nearly double the factory HP thrown at it. It was a great transmission, can't complain. I got it rebuilt locally with stock components, and it died after 20 passes. Then I went with a Promotion Powertrain rebuilt T45 that had upgraded components and was supposed to handle "700HP." That unit started whining, leaking ATF, and eventually died in 8 months. So I have become biased toward units built from factory. Now I have a stock T56 (only mod = 26 spline input shaft), and it's been handling everything I throw at it for the last two years. My humble recommendation is to find a used stock T45 or upgrade to a T56 rather than rebuilding the T45 -especially if you plan on adding power. Good luck!

I thought about that and wasn't to sure how I would like the six speed, I currently have 3.73's and didn't know how quick 1st to 2nd would be, it is already quick if I am rolling. Although I drove my buddy's vette ls2 with a 6 speed and liked it. Got a parts list to make it work ? I believe they use 11inch clutch mine is 10 1/2. Also what kind od trans fluid do you run? I've heard alot of different opinions

Gear ratio in 1st is taller for the T56: 2.97 vs 3.37 in the T45. I could barely tell the difference. 6th gear is almost the same as 5th gear in the T45. It is the 5th gear in the T56 that is "new". The transition is not that big a deal. I used the same 10.5" clutch as in my T45. I don't have a list, my set-up was transferred from another mustang so I had all the parts I needed. I believe you need a shorter driveshaft though. There are a lot of opinions about fluids, that's why I did my own tests. Maybe every transmission responds a little differently. My T56 shifted a lot smoother when I switched from ATF to Pennsoil/GM Synchromesh. I tried several different ATFs: regular dex-3, Mobil-1, Redline before I switched to Synchromesh. I am now experimenting with RP Synchromax (which is a light gear oil like Synchromesh, and specifically made for manual trannies that require ATF). I think I like it better than the Synchromesh. My high-RPM shifts on the dragstrip are faster and smoother than before, with less grinding and locking out. But in very cold weather, the tranny is notchy until the fluid warms up.

Hmm....are T56's easier to come by? Price wise and such? If anyone decices to go that direction, please let me know. I'd love to put one in instead of a T45...

I have tried both in my t45 the gm syncromesh which shifted very nice and now I have regular atf dextron v and I hate it. Very notchy shifts. But also my trans has a lot of hard miles. Mabe a new one would respond different.
