Help, Header Leak
Hey everyone,
I recently purchased SLP LT headers for my 03 GT and just had them installed yesterday. Let me preface with the mechanic I had doing it is pretty good. However when I went to pick the car up, he told me he had problems fitting the drivers side one. First off a section of the pipe seems to be hitting the boot on the steering wheel shaft (something like that) and then he told me that one section of the pipe wont stay flush with the engine no matter how much he tried so he said there was a slight leak.
I was driving it home and everything seemed fine but then I started to notice the leak. It is very noticeable and annoying and almost sounds like a machine gun going off near the clutch (not as loud, but a rapid fire sound). Also I tested it through the gears, and it seems to lose power at higher rpms as I floored it in 2nd and 3rd which I think is due to the leak cause it didnt do that before.
I dont know what to do now. I bought them for $800 form AM, and now I'm thinking I will have to have them removed. I will have to spend another $8-900 for new headers plus a shorty x-pipe since I had both from SLP.
I'm very pissed and annoyed because this was a problem I wasnt planning on running into, now it looks like this headers install is going to cost a crap load to get it right.
ANY SUGGESTIONS HELP?!?!
