Default 03 gt transmission issues!

I just bought a 2003 gt automatic from a dealer. They have me a 30 day warranty and everything. The day after I got it, the transmission started slipping when it tries to shift from 3rd to 4th. Sometimes it's just a little slip other times it's kinda bad. It does take a while to shift into drive from park which is what I've heard a bad shift solenoid can do. What do you think the problem is? The solenoid? The whole tranny? The fluid is at a good level. It does kind I smell burnt though. the dealer is going to flush it and change the solenoid but I want to know what you guys think.

Automatic transmissions are the devil. But yeah sounds like a valve body / solenoid issue. Don't even try it yourself. It's not worth the headache to properly diagnose or fix. I would have that dealership fix it under their warranty.

The overdrive bands in the 4r70w automatics are pretty weak and is the cause of most automatic failures in these cars. It's going to probably need rebuilt. them changing the fluid may make it stop for a short period of time (until after your warranty is up)...
