Default New to modding Mustangs!

Hey guys, I am new to the Mustang world (import guy) My wife has owned this 1998 GT Vert Auto since brand new out of the showroom and it just clicked over 51k on the clock. All babied miles as she doesnt know how to drive it. I am having a new top installed on her as the storm a few weeks ago had a tree fall over and one of the branches got it, thank god no damage to the car just the top ripped. I am also looking to wake this beast up. I just saw that the crack is starting in the Stock plastic intake manifold. I cant seem to find a upgrade for the stock one. Also what else can I do to wake up this pooch?? I am looking at adding the Ford Racing 4.10 gears, I have orded the o/r x-pipe and MIL's and SLP LM2 setup. I am guessing 75mm t-body and a new plenum would be next. 100 shot of juice and a set of drag radials for the track, sub frame connectors as its a vert? Give me some Ideas??? I have about 1000 dollar budget to throw at it right now as I already have the exhaust and the CIA paid for so what is the next 1000 i should spend.

Welcome to Mustang Forums

i think 4.10s are good start, id compliment it with a tuner it would make your engine run to max and efficiently at that. look into a Upper Intake Plenum also.

You want to put heads and intake from a 99/04 Mustang GT (called a PI swap) you should be able to do that for way under $1k. Don't throw any $ modding that Non PI engine do a Google search for info and you will understand

What brand and what stall did you go with? I've been wanting to stall my auto for awhile.

I went with a freakshow performance one. I spoke to mike the owner at length about my setup which is forged block vortech v2 snow stage 2 patriot stage 2 heads and comp 268 cams. He recommended I go with a billet 3000-3200 stall. I had a 1800 edge unit in and it did not like the cams. I put this in and wow what a difference. If you want his number just pm me.
Do you plan on staying stock cams if so ill give you a sweet deal on my edge stall. Has maybe 1500 miles on it.
