EV1, EV6, Jetronic, and USCAR...
I had a recent PM from a forum member concerned about injectors he had just purchased, and what adapters he might need to get them hooked up. His confusion was based in the oft repeated and incorrect assertion that the Bosch designations EV1 and EV6 were somehow related to the connector style--they are not.
The web is full of conventional wisdom that gets repeated so often, without ever being vetted, that people come to believe it. A wonderful example of same is the consistent misinformation floating about regarding EV1 and EV6 injectors--even American Muscle is confused.
EV1 and EV6 are Bosch's designations for the body style, and are in no way related to the connector type.
There are EV1 units with Jetronic or USCAR connectors, and EV6 units with either as well. For example, the now discontinued FRPP M-9593-AA302 24 lb/h injectors (I run these) are EV6 with a Jetronic/Minitimer connector.
So there you have it: EV1 and EV6 are body style group codes, Jetronic/Minitimer and USCAR are connector types...
