Default Throttle issue

I recently bought a new SR 75mm throttle body and C&L plenum off someone on Corral. I just installed it last night but I think the throttle is sticking.. It hangs for a few seconds, then realizes it should be closed then drops the rpms back to normal. My question is do I need a tune for it to work properly? Did I install it wrong? Or did the guy sell me a faulty part? Thanks for any help!

No it's not dirty.. The plenum was a little funky but I cleaned it out before installing it.

How long is the rpm hang? like exactly how long, mine and my dads hang for like 3 to 4 secs slowly dropping. Its normal for our mustangs. Did you have a different IAC gasket on and now you have a stock gasket, a restrictive gasket or aftermarket gasket will stop rev hang.

Did you disconnect the battery for 5-7 minutes during/after installing the new TB and plenum? Doing so will clear the KAM (Keep Alive Memory) and force the PCN to relearn the idle air and virtual dashpot trim values.

You may also wish to check the TB stop screw setting--here's how to do that...

Just to update this thread: I have solved the problem! The problem was I did not bolt my CAI back on correctly which caused a vacuum leak. That also lead to the codes I was getting (p1131 and p1151). Also thank you Cliffy for that article you wrote about the throttle stop screw. My throttle was "sticky" and was not smooth until I adjusted that, now it is perfect! Thank you everyone for your help!
