Default Advice on brake pads

I'm looking to replace the pads on my 2001 gt. I am curious as to what other people recommend. I'm guessing most will recommend ceramic. I do not drive it hard. It does not go through real heavy braking. Just a normal dd.

I'm happy with my Hawk Ceramics. Great for a dd, very quiet with decent stopping power. I had Hawk HPS' but they got very noisy after a few thousand miles.

I use Motorcraft. Works well for me. My car is my DD, and is pretty much stock, so I don't buy the expensive aftermarket stuff.

I use the Raybestos Ceramics (
Amazon has them Amazon has them
for ~$48). You can get the "Professional Grade" Ceramics (Part # PGD804C) for about $36 from Rock Auto.

Just the ones that I choose. They work really well for me. YMMV.

^ what he said, either amazon, or rock auto. Just make sure you have the part #'s. Raybestos is what I have as well, I got my whole set up pads and rotors from rock auto for 285.00.

Most ceramics are worthwhile. For some reason semi-metallics (even motorcraft ones) seem to squeal after you replace them eventhough the factory ones are Semi's.
