Default 02 GT Air Filter Got Wet :$

Aight guys. So my brothers 02 GT, 5spd, with around 90k miles started misfiring the other day. I remembered the inner fenderwell splash guard on the passenger side got ripped out after he ran the car up on a curb (it was already screwed from him running over a snow bank, lol). We got a ton of rain the other day, so I decided to go straight for the air filter. Got it out, and sure enough it was wet. Also took the MAF off the intake and looked up into the intake and it had a little bit of water chilling the ribs of the intake. So my question is, does the mass air flow sensor need to be replaced? Or just dried out (gently)? Also, could this of possibly fouled any plugs, or would it just be that the MAF was reading all funky because of the moisture? I think my dad wants me to go ahead and replace the plugs anyhow, but I just would appreciate y'alls opinion. Thanks guys!

Buy a can of 'MAF Cleaner' at Advance Auto or other parts store. Of course, clean and re-oil the filter. Also, clean out the Air Intake Tubes. Unless it went completely under water it should be fine.

idk about the maf but the water could cause a faulty reading. just go and buy a filter if the one that got wet isnt the washable type. At 90,000, the plugs might need changing anyway.

Ended up replacing the filter, changing the plugs, cleaning out the intake, and changing the oil. Cleared the code and it ran like a champ. Thanks guys.
