Solid rear end
I'm going get a solid rear end for my 03 cobra and I'm wondering if it's a true bolt in situation ? And which brand does everyone think is the best? I only go to the track 3 or 4 times a year but I do alot of street racing so I need a strong one .. My buddy had a white 04 cobra and is putting down around 450 HP to the wheel and completely destroyed his IRS rear the other night .. There was pieces of sheered metal everywhere .. That's the reason I'm going get one .. My buddy that night raced a fresh restored '69 chevelle 396 4-speed .. My buddy beat him about 2 cars , then they were going race again and disaster happened

Yes from what ive read multiple times is that our axles from 1996 - 2004 are strait bolt in. Cliffy explains it in this thread https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l...-end-take.html
If youre looking for a solid rear end i'll trade you mine and some cash for yours

Thanks bro .. When I order one I'll send you a message and we'll make a deal on my IRS set-up ... Cool .. I wonder if I get one with a 4.10 will that gear hurt me in a highway race from 40-140mph?? Im running the factory gear and it does good in a long race .. It feels like it never wants to top out

Smart people get off the gas when the IRS starts wheel hoping. It is not HP/TQ that kills them it's not letting off the gas during wheel hop
And if your looking for a SA look for one out of a 99/04 GT. the 94/98 will bolt in but it is not as wide

Cool G-man .. I'm waiting on income tax time , it's right around the corner , I'm going get a strange 12 bolt but as soon as I pull my IRS , I'll send you a message that same day bro ... Mines not hurt at all ,, my boss let me pull the car in one day when we wasn't busy and I raised it up on a lift and used the motorcraft undercoating and ended up getting 2 good coats on everything , so that IRS looks still like new and coated
