Cig lighter doesn't work

Cig lighter doesn't work
car: 01 mustang gt prem
problem:
1. arm rest cig lighter is rusted out and doesn't work at all. Any way to replace it?
2. Dash cig lighter works if you wiggle the charger cable around in awkward positions (or hold it in with pressure)- but the power light dims intermittently and fails to recognize as charging on the phone itself (basically it doesn't work even if the lights lit up).
3. After googling I read you can't power chargers ect and only cig lighters- but wasn't sure for which ones or if it applied to my car.
4. Any suggestions to get both working? Could I just swap them out from one from autozone? Fuses are good.
thx

yeah, some of the cig lighters charge thing can get loose.
solution#1 open it and clean it. some sandpaper or w/ a file. (too much work for me)
Solution #2 get a new one from autozone. cut or solder the new one on. it shouldn't be too hard. cheap too.
This way, the connection will be solid and it feels good when you plug in chargers instead of all loose.

Cig lighters weren’t designed for the amount of use we use them today. They do wear out. They are very simple to replace. You shouldn’t need to do any cutting or soldering. Most just pop out and you disconnect the wires and connect them to the new one. There are a bunch of YouTube video’s on how to do this job. It is fairly universal, so the make/model of car doesn’t really matter. Good luck...
