Default Brake issue

Hello,

I recently replaced my rear rotors, pads, and calipers. However the calipers are not compressing the pads at all when I push on the brakes. The brake fluid line is properly connected and is bleed so there is no air in the line. The parking brake lines are not connected however. My question is are these necessary for the rear brake calipers to function? If not, any suggestions as to why the calipers are not working.

Thanks

Rear calipers don't compress in. You need to turn them in. Use needle nose pliars or you can buy the 'special caliper tool' if you want.

Not that I can help him, but I think he is referring to the caliper pressing the pads to the rotors when he steps on the brake pedal, ie the normal brake operation.

there is a bleed valve on the mastercylinder, did you bleed this too? if air is trapped in there, it can cause this

Thanks, I'm going to bleed the MC. However, I can't seem to locate the bleed valves on the MC, any tips? Are they the things that are circled?

Oooooh. It might be air in the line even after you bled them. It could also be old lines and they are stretching instead of forcing the fluid into the caliper.

I fixed the issue, the brake line was leaking where it connected to the caliper, just had to REALLY tighten them up. Rebleed everything and now my brakes work great Thanks for your help!
