Low RPM Smoke

Low RPM Smoke
Hello all! Any help would truly be appreciated! My GT is smoking blue which I am guessing is oil at low RPM's and when I put a lot of torque on the engine. It happens a lot when I reverse and sometimes when I accelerate forward from a stand still. Once the car gets going I never see any smoke. And its hit or miss, it doesnt always do it. Im not sure if a custom tune will help or if the rings are bad. Anybody know of something I can do before looking into rebuilding the engine?
2002 GT; BBK Long tube, BBK Off road X Pipe, BBK 78MM throttle body, SCT Custom tunes by BAMA, MSD Coil packs and many many more upgrades.

You need to test the compression, no cylinder should be less than 135 psi (actually that is the lower service limit, 165+ psi for a reasonably but well worn engine). Also the lowest cylinder should be no less than 75% of the highest.
If you find one or more with low compression do a wet compression test. If the compression increases the rings are worn, if not it is a valve/head gasket related issue.

Penick33,
In this type of situation, it's usually a Bad Valve Seal. Basically, Oil will build up around the seal and then when you pull away from a stop some oil sneak by, causing Blue smoke.
Just to rule out all options, we can definitely look into your tune file for you. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764.
I hope this helps!
