Default smoked tail light covers

Hey guys I'm having some problems installing my smoked tail light covers.

I don't want to use the Velcro adhesive provided because you can see it at night and I've read of people having issues with them falling off.

Does anybody have recommendations on adhesive/ double sided tape to use? And also where to place it? I tried some double sided tape on the outsides edges but it just wasn't secure enough for my taste.

The inner ones weren't sticking as well because the covers are flat and the lights get taller as you move outside

Retrun them man, your better off spraying them with tint. I sprayed mine with Rustoleum lens tint from autozone, one can cost me $8.99.

I agree, spraying them really isn't too hard. Buy some VHT niteshades and take your time. Spray 2-3 coats (I did 3), and wet sand after the VHT dries. Then spray 2 coats of clear, wet sand again. Next buff with some rubbing compound and that's all there is to it.

If u don't want to spray them get the vynal overlays. They are easy to do and u can remove them if u want to later on.

What grade of sand paper did you use?

I believe I used 1500. I completely screwed up the clear coat the first time and had to wet sand like crazy to get the runs out.. Make sure to do very light coats of the niteshades or it will run. The key is the wet sanding and the buffing.

Be careful, there was just a lawsuit involving spray on tint. Someone rear-ended a vehicle with it and sued the owner, manufacturer and inspection shop that had just passed it.

Yeah, obstructing tail lights is illegal in all 50 states. In ND (lived there a long time), they are itching for a reason to pull you over - and that is a HUGE flag to any LEO.
