Default NJ Inspection question with SCT bama tuner

Hey guys..i recently just got a 2004 Mach 1.. i bought it from new york and i am in jersey so i need to get it re-inspected. It has a sct tunere with the bama tunes from American Muscle. I went to state inspection the other day and it failed for all that o2 sensor crap..now i have read a lot about that same problem on the forum but i just want to most basic way to resolve this..if i just flash it back to stock would that turn the rear o2's back on and that would pass me? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Depends, the Rear O2 sensors were probably turned 'off' because they were removed with aftertermarket exahust. You turn them 'off' to eliminate the CEL from turning on from them missing.

Get under the car and see if they are still physically there. If they are, then try to turn them 'on' in the tuner.

If they aren't there physically then the only way to get the car to pass is to put some high-flo cats in with some O2 sensors then turn it back on.

What about the o2 caused it to fail? If you have cats than you should be OK.

^+1, you need to expand upon "O2 sensor crap", are there any persistent DTCs (SES light on)--or did it fail because "P1000" (the is I/M (Inspection/Maintenance) monitor not complete/failed) code?

So-called "high-flow" cats are really just catalytic converters that are too small from an emissions control perspective. They can be "used up" so to speak and not throw a permanent DTC, yet still cause a I/M monitor fail/incomplete code.

I had the same problem. So what I did was flashed the computer back to stock and it passed. It was really weird because they showed me the print out and it said all my sensors were not responding which I guess sct doesn't need them so they dont respond. And wit the o2 sensors you can get o2 eliminators and it will be fine. Worked for me. Good luck

I just have to say that I feel bad for everyone that has to get their car inspected every year.
I live in South Dakota, and we don't have anything like these tests.
Probably because no one lives here, but it just means more wide open roads
