I really doubt the booster would cause my problem, but i'll keep an open mind while I try and figure this out. it was doing this before and after the new brake hoses so I doubt it's a twisted/kinked hose. I will how ever give them a check. keep the suggestions coming guys, i'm determined to fix this issue.

Art02: Does yours continue pulling towards center as long as you apply the brake pedal, or does it equalize after the first momentary 'jerk'?

Also, how aggressive is the jerk? Does it change the direction of the car, or is it a little 'blip'?

Jwallz: Can you describe how you think the brake booster might be the cause? I am unfamiliar with the anatomy of the upper end of the Mustang's brake system.

It's momentary and it's just a blip

The pump that controls the brake fluid pressure also controls the power steering. That's probably where you issue is.

I've got the same issue. I just got my first Mustang 3 weeks ago, but looking under the hood It seems like its got Hydroboost, and I figure that setup factors into it. As best as I can tell, when dropping the RPM down (at Idle, Coming to a stop, ect) There seems to be a pressure issue with the system., or maybe theres not enough fluid in it. Just my 2c.

My 96 is doing the same thing as described in OP. I was thinking it was the Hydroboost system. How do I know if the brake side or the power steering side? My power steering is a little anemic at idle, but i have been thinking that is due to the under drive pulleys. I know i reviving an older post but if anyone could throw in there 2, that would be awesome. It would also be nice to have a thread actually come to a solution for once too.

I had been checking both the steering and brake fluid level for awhile now, and i notice yesterday they both were down about a 1/4. I am probably just going to replace both mc/hydroboost and steering pump. I do have 204k on the car probably a good idea.

sounds like a mounting of caliper issue if its pulling when applying dureing a turn, make sure the caliper is secure, turn the wheel to the left while parked and have some one inspect the caliper while you press brake and see if theres any play in calipers when you have wheels turned
