2001 Mustang GT won't start...why?
#21
Hey guys, I'm back. The weather hasn't been the greatest since the last time I tried working on my GT. I'm trying again today. I just went out and tried to start it...It was so freaking close to starting (haven't put the new fuel pump in yet). But here's my new question. It's right there, trying so hard to start, like it wants to (The engine sounds like it's about to run/start and I can hear "blurps" from the exhaust)...I depressed the accelerator to try to give it a little more fuel to "get it over the hump" but, now when I press the pedal it's like it "kills" it. I'm not pressing the pedal down that much at all, just a little bit as to try not to flood it, but every time I press the gas pedal down (as it sounds like it's getting ready to start), it just stops trying and the only way I can describe it is that it "dies" and just sounds like it does when it's cranking. Any ideas?
Is there a way I can record the sound of me trying to start it and post that here for you guys to listen?

+1^ <--got a lot of this going on, defiantly need to apply the advice thats been given. Here's a recap... Check fuel pressure/ fuel issue (hopefully you rechecked the battery) ,check for soft codes, without a decent scanner your shooting yourself in the foot because you won't be able to see any live data including a command for the pump, voltage etc , and likewise with guessignosing. Sorry if that comes off mean at all but its the truth.

Holy f'ing S&*@! Test for fuel pressure at the rail as stated in eariler posts, takes 1 min to do!!! You keep taking life off the motor and starter by trying to continue to crank it over and over again hoping that some magic has happend and it will just start up. TEST FOR FUEL PRESSURE! That fing easy! The mods should lock this thread
