Time-Sert at the Dealer

Time-Sert at the Dealer
Just curious if anyone knows if the Ford dealers work with Big-Sert and Time-Serts? I know it's a Ford approved repair process, but I am not sure if the regularly stock the Big-Sert and Time-Sert stuff. I'd call but it's Sunday and all the service centers are closed. Also, if you know what they normally charge for installing them?

Which kit would I need?
Rather, I'm looking at the alternative of doing the Big-Sert myself, but I'm not sure which kit I need. They seem to have different lengths of insert.

is this to repair something already off the engine? if yes I would just take the part to a local machine shop. If it is a part that requires a mechanic to disassemble I would take it to a local shop not a Stealership

I'm sorry, I should have specified. This is for a spark plug.

Yikes! My local Ford service center quoted me $800 to install a time-sert o.o I have a local fella who'll do it for $120 if I can get him the actual inserts. Thing is, I don't have any local places that have the inserts... Nor do I know which inserts I need.

I've also considered getting the Big-Sert kit just to have it. If it works, it works. I'd of course be nice and loan it to people here if they need it It'll be about the same as a new head without having the chore of trying to do a head swap in an apartment parking lot. May be worth trying.

So if anyone else is doing this and is looking at whta size kit you need, if it's helpful to anyone at all it's the M14x1.25 kit 5553

Turns out that won't work. My hold is bored out at .748in, or 18.99mm New head time! Though I'm being told by my local Ford service center that they'd rather put in a new block since I have 166k miles. I'm waiting to hear back on the quote for either a new head install or a new block. We'll see. I'll post the estimates here when I get them.
