Default Coil Packs - Duralast, MSD or Accel?

Looks like I may have to replace a coil pack in my 2002 4.6L stock 144000 mile engine, so I figure I should do all of them, but I have a couple of questions. First, why the hell are they so expensive???? Also, I prefer Accel for some reason, and they seem to be the cheapest at $270 for an 8 pack. Is there any reason I should get the MSD ($400 a set!!) coil packs, or the Duralast with the lifetime warranty??

if you dont have a brand preference, or a color thang, may i recommend original equipment. they got u this far. motorcraft, or maybe oem, usually pricey. them stangs love those original goodies.

This is spot on, from what I have seen the stock coils are better than any aftermarkets on these motors

I just ordered a set of Accel COPs for my car from Amazon ($199 to the door).
I have read a lot of people have had new COPs fail when they have gone with the real high energy ones(40000 vs 20000 stock). Accel puts out around 22000-23000.

I just installed a set on my brother's truck and they looked to be well made. I guess we will both find out.

Factory COPs are expensive! $800 for a set.

i have them on my car. honestly the only reason you want bigger spark is because you have a 93 tune, and the fuel is HARDER to ignite. I see no reason to go beyond stock amount with an 87 tune.

I'm really leaning toward the Accel coils unless anyone has had a bad experience with them.

I use Motorcraft. cheaper and does the job just as well as aftermarket.
