Default Buying used 99' GT with with one problem

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums and this is my first post. I've read the rules in the new members area so if I'm doing anything wrong please let me know. I'm about to buy a 99 GT with 55,000 miles for 4000 dollars. The catch is he lost control and hit a curb with his driver side rear wheel a few months ago before he put it into storage. This has led to a noticeable wobble of the driver side rear tire which has me thinking the rim may be bent. In any case I feel like even if there is more extensive damage this is still a great deal. The last thing I want to say is i'm going to take it up to a shop and throw it up and see if there is any more damage. So my main question is, worst case scenario, do you guys think its still a good buy?

It sounds like a good buy if the rest of the car is in good shape. It probably bent the rim and also the the axle. I'm not saying the whole housing the shaft that slides into the rearend

It does have a few other exterior cosmetic defects but its engine/transmission/interior pretty much everything else is in great shape I'll probably jump on it thanks guys!

This is the side with the most cosmetic damage. As you can see there is some damage near the door and also on the driver side rear wheel. Any thoughts? still a good deal?

That is more than just a little cosmetic damage. Mileage don't count, if it hasn't been taken care of. And it has unknown damage to the rear. I would walk away.

+1^ there's many more fish in the water as my mother used to say.
I just had a wreck, it cost me 3200.00 for a very similar impact. Well, my insurance paid it, but you get the picture. So, why didn't he place a claim?

There's some photos of mine in this thread. Beside driving around like that would drive me nuts!

Ya its got some pretty extreme wheel wobble but when I drive it its hard to tell I cannot notice anything too bad. I mean kbb on the car in fair condition is 7 grand do you think I should totally walk away and this is not beyond fixing? I feel like the right thing to do is get it looked at and if its repairable for a couple hundred maybe offer a little less that 4000. But please keep opinions coming I like to make informed decisions.

You can't go 100% with KBB prices. 7K is what that car is worth in great condition. I wouldn't be in such a rush to buy this. They made a ton of GT's, so why settle on one that clearly has not been taken care of. Look around and see what else is out there. You may have to travel a distance to find a good one.
