Does anyone know the horsepower rating of the 4.6L block? like will pushing 600+ horse through a stock block with a forged rotating assembly crack the block?

450 is said to be the "safe" hp rating on a stock block. its all about the tune and a/f ratio. 600+ hp i would say needs a built motor

wrong! the stock rods and pistons are 400-450 rwhp. The gt bock is rated way up there an can handle 600 rwhp all day long. The 03-04 cobras share the same block. the teksid blocks are the only stronger factory 4.6 block.

Anywhere ive seen says the stock bottom end on a new edge 4.6l handles 450rwhp on the safe side.

Op, im no sure on the max rwhp the bare block will hold but the aluminum teksid block I have seen 1200-1500 range and I know the iron block you have, as long as its in good condition, isn't far behind.

haha right. Thats what i get for not reading it better, lol. Anyways OP, yeah like schoolboy said the block will be good, its only the pistons and rods are the weak spots when you start pushing power on it. But since you'll take care of the rotating assembly i dont see any concern really
