TR3650 Bellhousing Silicon?

TR3650 Bellhousing Silicon?
I'm slowly taking this tranny out to replace a bad clutch. I watched this video and it gave me the visual I was looking for:

One thing I noticed is that they reinstalled the bell housing first, which is something I might have tried. It looks easier, especially where those two top bolts are.
But here is my question: they didn't put any kind of silicone where the bell housing mates to the case. And why should they?
However, there is obviously silicon already on my tranny. And the bolts are installed from the inside of the bell housing, which would make reinstalling bell housing first impossible.
So should I leave the bell housing on and not mess with it? Should I take it off and reverse the bolts?
I'll try to get pics later.

The transmission in the 03-04 cobra they did the clutch job on is a T-56, as such it has a detachable bell housing where your TR3650 does not. If you attach the bell housing to engine first you will not be able to reattach the transmission to the housing.
