Largest tires I can put on my 2000 16" stock rims?
What are the largest tires I can put on my 2000 16" stock rims? The rims are 16x7.5 and call for tires that are P225/55R16. I can pick up some really good deals on craigslist, but I am not sure what the max size is for this particular wheel. THANKS!!!

If I had to guess , since stock gt wheels are 8'' wide and run 245/45r17 that you could possibly get away with 235-245 wide tire, but as the tires get wider you will need to go with a smaller aspect ratio # /55/ or /45/ it's the second set of numbers. If you buy a 245/55/16 tire it'll be too big. If you are going lowered and want low profile tires then go for it. If you are only trying to save money I would stick with factory sizes.
