Default Not sure what style exhaust to buy

So I am not sure if I want a chambered muffler or straight through. I heard the straight through is the old muscle car sound. Looking through YouTube and having a hard time telling the diference. I will be doing just mufflers for now and will do a full exhaust latter. Thanks for the help

My '02 GT has Flowmasters I guess they are chambered. My stepson has a '69 with a 289 and glasspacks, I believe they are straight through. If you want extremely loud straight through are a good choice. I really like the Flowmasters for daily use.

If you want more sound bites, AM has videos for what they sell as well. It's all comes down to what pleases you.
I have FM Super 44's, but I don't think I would get them again.

As said before AM has videos of the mufflers they sell. What kind of driving do you usually do? In town from stop light to stop light or do you do a lot of highway/interstate driving?
If you're in town all the time Flowmaster 44's or 40's would be a good choice for the muscle sound. If a majority of your driving is done on the highway I would go with something quitter, the constant noise from loud mufflers gets old real quick.

If you weld in Flowmasters with the stock exhaust, it'll barley be any louder.

From my experience a chambered muffler sounds better with an H pipe and a straight through muffler sounds better with an x pipe. So if you are are only switching mufflers right now I would go with a chambered muffler. Just my opinion though

yes sir, go ahead and get cha some loud butt exhaust. you know how we love to hear those pipes roar. but it'll get old, ya wont be able to carry on a decent conversation, without hollerin. but most definately, get some loud ones. later on you can change to a quieter one. have fun!
