Do i need upgraded axles with a relatively stock 2000 GT on slicks?

Default Do i need upgraded axles with a relatively stock 2000 GT on slicks?

Ill be bringing the car to the strip this summer for the 1st time and have a pair of M/T slicks on welds that ill be using. I have the regular bolt ons (plenum, throttle body, shorty headers, xpipe, catback, pulleys) and 3.73 gears.

Should i worry about snapping the axles with the slicks on 3500 rpm drops?

Depends on wheel hop, just run it if u snap one try hardened 28 splines, if that doesn't work then move up to 31s
