Default Should I buy this Mustang?

I found a 2000 Mustang GT 5-Speed on craigslist really cheap. It has 189,789 Miles. I would like to see the opinion from others. The only mod it has done is welded in Flowmaster Mufflers. I have gone and looked at it and test drove it and everything was good and the interior is in good shape as well. There are a few things that kept me from purchasing it that day. The ad wasn't as clear as it seems. The Car needs all 4 tires(im not sure if it'll pass inspection with them), Driver side Window Motor is bad, and needs quarter panel work on both sides. on the drivers side it has a rust hole the size of dime and on the passenger side has everything patched up. And the ABS light is on, he said its because the brakes need to be bled. Other than that its a nice car. Clutch grabs fine and engine pulls nice.

He Will sell it me for $2,900
Im just not sure if its worth it buying a mustang GT with almost 200K since i might want to take down the track once or twice a year.

Please Leave a Comment on your opinion

IMHO that is way too much for the car. As you describe it, it is what my father would call "scrap iron"...

I'd buy it! But then again I know how to to the body and paint work it looks like it needs. If you can't do it yourself it'll be a lot of $$$

Mine has 191,XXX miles runs fine and the paint was correctable w/o any body damage. While mine is simply a pleasure car I wouldn't hesitate to take a trip a few hundred miles from home. The biggest problem I have with mine is I need new seat foam and cover for the driver's seat.

Since the ad was down i couldn't get a look at it. But 4.6 motors seem like they can go for awhile. I agree I wouldn't go above 1500 for the car but it seems like a good place to start a build. If you want a dd without a build then depending on how much you want to put into it, I would say pass.

I also call B.S. on the brakes needing to be bled, I think there is a deeper issue involved.
