Default 2003 gt ticking

so guys i need some input here. Im kind of worried because lately i have a minor tick that ive been hearing. example.. When im in second gear around 2k rpms (around 25 or so mph) its very faint but i can hear it if i keep it at that constant rpm... When im in 4th gear at about 30-35mph (1.4or so rpms) and floor it, it really is loud. Its like a coffee can rattle, ping, etc. I dont know if i have the head tick issue, or something along those lines but like i said i know its not normal and am quite concerned. It is a 5 speed, only thing done to it is a bbk CAI so far from a previous owner.

Anyone had an experience like this?

Got your new tuner yet? Loaded a new tune to the PCM yet? If not, you might want to try that and see if your "problem" goes away. It may be just an ignition timing issue (or some other minor thing that will be corrected with a "proper" tune)??

My "new" 2004 GT ran much better with the 91 Octane performance tune loaded from my BAMA (SCT) tuner. I loaded the new tune before having the 4.10 gears installed (and the factory 3.27 gears were specified on the original tune).

Anyways... something to try out before you get too worried about having a problem.

yeah i guess. but to me it seems like an engine/ head tick or something. Like something is rattling and ready to break. i could always wait till it breaks and get it covered on my extended warranty lol

My bet is on an exhaust leak. Possibly at the manifold.
