Why won't mechanics in my town do a 4.6 head gasket job?

My old lady will just blow the car up if I do anything other than what's been done. It's got little BS stuff on it that you'd expect (ECU, intake, flowmasters, Steeda clutch quadrant kit, stage 4 clutch) but any real power increases are just going to cause problems with her driving it. My F150 has the same engine (2006 version) and I've started building the hell out of it.
