Default SN95 Springs vs SN95 "New Edge" Springs

Well a buddy of mine picked up a clean 02 GT this past Wednesday and this weekend I went to lend the knowledge I have for the Mustang. Well this GT was lowered from the previous owner, and along with the car came the stock springs that at the time of removal had about 22k on them. He said I could have them if I wanted them, my 96 GT is getting a little spongy in the rear and just seems to wallow over the road. I am certain I need new shocks, the ones I bought 4 years ago when I purchased the car were Monroe "blue" economy shocks. They have done there job to this point but this spring when I pulled the car out it just seemed out of wack.

So I took the springs off his hands, my question is between the SN95 (94-98) and the SN95 (99-04) was there a difference in ride height, spring rates, etc.. I am aware that most of the above mentioned Mustangs have the "4x4" look to them, but if I were to install these on my 96 will it drop a hair? Obviously I will retain the original ride quality with the addition of new shocks/ iso/ etc. Would I be better off taking these springs and cutting a coil to a coil and a half off to get a better stance?

Just need some input before I take this on and don't like the result.

Thank you in advanced guys.

Not 100% sure but I would imagine they are the same from 96-04

I figured the same thing, just for the simple reason that every time you look at a spring kit for our cars they generally say 94-04 platform. But then after buzzing around on the net I found on another forum where someone did the swap and achieved a drop in the ride height. He didn't exactly go into detail of what he did, added/deleted etc... So I was curious and needed further input from you fine gents, and gals. Any opinions on cutting the springs to get a slight drop?

I'm not a fan of cutting springs but plenty of people do it with no problems. You can also remove the rubber ISO's to get a little drop. And FYI all springs from 79/04 will fit except the 99/04 Cobra rear springs

They are the same springs; "New Edge" is only new appearance.
