Default Something is Wrong With My Car

I just replaced the batteries on my Mustang, but I don't know if that's the problem or not. Today morning, I get inside my car, and when I open the door to sit down, the car is making the sound as if the headlights are on, it's warning me. The keys are not in the ignition yet, and the lights were not on. Also, the speedometer lights, the tachometer lights, etc. were all blinking on and off for some reason, and that is the problem. I look outside, and the blinkers are also going on and off as if my hazards are on, but they weren't. The headlights were fine, and weren't acting up.

This is wasting my batteries, and I dont know why this is happening. Has this ever happened to anyone here before?

I forgot to mention, that this only happens when the car is off. While Im driving it's fine, and when I turn it on, those things stop happening immediately. It's a 1996 Mustang GT by the way.

Sounds to me like you may have a car alarm on the vehicle that is malfunctioning?

I cant think of anything that would flash the hazzards other than an alarm.

I think you are right. Is there a way for me to test this? I don't have the wireless key remote.

I'm not an expert, but wouldnt an alarm have a feed right off the battery?

Go to Ford and get a remote for your alarm. Does your horn work? IF it does not, then see of it was unplugged to keep the alarm from going off constantly without the remote. If it is still plugged in, look for an alarm horn somewhere else that is unplugged. It definitely sounds like and alarm issue to me as well. Remove the fuse and hope it doesn't effect anything else in the process. You really need to get the remote for that alarm though.

Do you have more than one starter battery in your Mustang? Do you have an aftermarket rapper sound system?

No, of course not! Jury rigging an extra battery into the stock system couldn't possibly cause any problems.

I took the OPs first post seriously. He replaced the BATTERIES, not the battery. Excuse me for presuming the OP is literate.

Either you weren't bright enough to notice, or you're presuming the OP has the English skills of a three year old. I'm betting you're brain is running on a half dead AA.
