input shaft on my T45 trans is damaged - replacement options?
The input shaft on my T45 transmission is damaged with a very slight bend. Is there any options for replacement?
I am hearing that the input shaft on the older 96-98 T45 transmission wouldn't work - is this true?
Also is it better that I just swap the entire transmission? The labor involved to replace just the input shaft seems quite high (about 5-6 hours)?
The transmission is already dropped from the car, as the clutch was being replaced. The mechanic is unable to slide the input shaft back into the clutch and says it is slightly bent.

The mechanic said it would be about 5+ hours of labor to replace the input shaft on the current transmission, so I figured for the cost of labor and the cost of parts, I decided to go with a used T45 transmission and just swap the trannys. I found one locally with about 115k km (72k miles) for $600. Not sure if that was a good deal, but hopefully there isn't anymore issues...
