Default pi head question

I was told that when doing a pi swap to use a intake manifold off a f150 they flow better. is that right? is there a difference in the intakes? what would be the best intake to use on a pi swap on a 96 gt? I was just going to order the doorman one. I have a bbk 78mm TB & plenum or whatever you wanna call it and romeo pi heads.

Im not sure is it flows better or not. The real bottle necks is the plenum exit hole into the manifold. Even if it flows better, I don't thing you will see much gains. The factory mustang pi intake was well crafted and will hang with any aftermarket intake until major engine work is done.

Thats what I thought. The guy that told me that did not seem to know what he was talking about. I will just order the doorman one. unless I can find a good used one. should I port the heads? Sent them off to the machine shop today.

The doorman isn't as good as a ford racing replacement or a good used one.
Sure, if theyre off and the machine shop is good.

The differences in the intake for an f-150 and a mustang is height and runner length. The f-150 intake is geared for more low end torque as opposed to the mustang intake which has shorter runners and has a higher rpm operating range. Also I don't the think truck intake will fit under the hood.

Don't get that doorman POS the FRPP manifold is a full $20 more and you WILL lose power with a doorman. Once you get the Ford manifold put it side by side with the doorman and you will see the obvious differences in runner size. You will need new gaskets though as the doorman you have uses o-ring style gaskets instead of the factory gasket design.

No, don't buy it. try to get the one with the aluminum crossover. you should be able to get a good condition used for for the same price or less on Ebay.
