Default Is my throw out bearing my only issue? '00 GT

So I replaced my clutch cable after my last one had snapped (stage 3/4 clutch? VERY stiff!) and after putting about 100 miles on the new cable I noticed my clutch began to get much stiffer very quickly to the point that the clutch would not fully engage. So after limping it home and inspecting and disconnected my clutch cable, the pedal moved freely so I know that's not the issue. Although after inspecting the clutch fork I noticed crazy amounts of free movement in all directions..not good. So I dropped the trans leaving the bell housing connected and this is what I discovered as far as the clutch fork:

Would this make sense as to why my clutch wouldn't engage? Should I drop the bell housing and inspect my pressure plate next?

Thanks in advance!

I apologize for that lets see if this link works.

Basically it just shows some grooves cut in the ring that slides into the clutch fork and presses on the throw out bearing, it shows a ring in the center of my throw out bearing just wobbling loosely in there, and it shows one of the retainers/clips that hold the fork to the ball pivot being broken off, which would make sense with what youre saying.

I apologize for the lack of proper terminology. Trans is also a t56 if that matters.

Is that your work bench ?? lmao that would drive me insane .

But yes that metal clip that holds the clutch fork on is broken and youll need a new clutch fork for it .
as well as a new tob. it was probly destroyed when the fork came off the ball.
are you sure you have a t56? those were only in the cobra for that year. The 2000 gt had a t45.
Likely that damaged the tob and

Wow some one must have swapped it out because in 2000 the gt mustangs came with a t45.
The cobra R had a t56 trans in 2000.
