Default I have a question about a shifter part.

Everyone refers to this piece as "the little black plastic cup looking piece that goes onto the shifter ball on the bottom of the shifter." I have a tr3650 that I am putting into my 06 crown vic. My question is does the tr3650 need this piece? Did the mustangs with the tr3650 come with this piece? The rep from ford says he doesnt know what im talking about... Did this piece only come on other transmissions?

Any and all information is greatly appreciated...thanks in advance.

Im not sure if this will help or not but you can down load this pdf file from me and browse through it , it is the tr3650 service manual.

I did find a picture on american muscle http://www.americanmuscle.com/steeda...r-install.html its the 2nd pic that has the tr3650 bushing. Apparently the ford tech guys dont know this exists... So if any of you guys know a part number or know where to get one that would be awesome.

In 7 years I have never seen this part listed, separately or as part of an assembly--bring this photo to the Ford dealer, you may have to go to Tremec:

The photo is of mine, transferred from the stock shifter to an MGW...

Lol honestly if I needed one I would probly go down to the local rubber factory and get a small scrap of rubber a few inches thick and cut one to fit my self.

It is hard plastic not at all rubber like, if were inclined to make one it would be best machined from Delrin, a high-temp Nylon or high density polyethelene. That seems to be the material from which the original was made...
