Default Are 24 lbs injectors too big for a 4.6 with bolts ons?

I'm doing the typical bolt on stuff to my 2002 GT, Magnaflow Xpipe with hi flow cats, Flowmaster cat back, C&L plenum, Accufab TB, Airraid CAI, Bama tune.

I've got a feeling I'll also be moving to some long tube headers down the line a little.

Some info here from Cliff K. about how Ford felt the 19 lb injectors were marginal even on a stock engine and went to 21 lb ones in mid 2002 convinced me that I should get a set of the pink 21 lbs ones, unfortunately my car was built in 2001 and has the orange 19 lb ones.

Here's the deal on that though, on ebay its looking like it takes $100. to $120. to get a used set of the 21's with shipping. I'd then want to send them for cleaning and testing so now were talking about another $150 or so for total of at least $250.

I can get a new set of Ford SVO 24 lb injectors, with the required connector adapters, shipped to me for $229. total, cheaper than a set of cleaned and tested 21's.

Would the 24's be too much injector for my bolt on mods or would they work ok if they had the correct tune?

OP; 24 lb/h injectors will be fine as long as the tune is modified (low and high injector slopes, breakpoint, and minimum pulse width). AFR will need to be monitored to get them 100% dialed in...

Hey Cliff, I'm swapping in a Navigator's 5.4 4v into my F150. Shorties, Exhaust, custom tune ..the basics. Any thoughts on what size injectors I should upgrade too?

I think they came with 24s, however I would probably look for a set of 28s or 30s...

Cliff, thanks again for the info.

I'm using the Bama tuning service with an SCT. My memory is that during the parts specification process for your tune you state what injectors you have and they had the 24's listed so hopefully I'll be ok on that with a new tune from them.

There is one other thing I'm concerned about with these SVO injectors, they come with a EV1 to EV6 connector adapter that you have to use.

Have you ever seen one these adapters and did it look well made?

Having an extra electrical connector in the mix is not a plus for me but I guess I could live with it.

The only way to determine if/how the tune has been changed (actually there is no "if" as the engine would not run with those injectors without a custom tune), if to download the tune from the PCM and compare it to a stock tune using tune editing software like Delta Force Commando or SCT Advantage.
