Good luck… btw:

Short Term Fuel Trim - Bank 1 1.56 %
Long Term Fuel Trim - Bank 1 0.00 %
Short Term Fuel Trim - Bank 2 32.81 %
Long Term Fuel Trim - Bank 2 0.00 %

Bank 1 is perfect. Back 2, however is way rich. You must have taken this reading soon after clearing codes or reconnecting the battery because with at 32% STFT and the LTFT hasn’t had a chance to compensate to try to bring the STFT back down towards 0%.

What these numbers mean is the bank2 o2 sensors are telling the computer that bank2 is running way lean. So the computer is dumping a bunch of fuel into bank 2 to compensate (as indicated by the 32% STFT). It reached the max amount of fuel trim adjustment and throws a code.

A static printout of the voltage and fuel trime readings are kind of hard to use for diagnostics because they should be constantly changing. Voltage should be jumping between .1 and .9 volts and the (STFT + LTFT) should be flowing between -10 & 10%. The P2197 code would suggest that one of the bank 2 sensor readings is stuck and not changing. Is that true? If so, which one (sensor 1 or 2)?

@petrock It's bank 2 sensor 1 and I did clear the codes the night before I just disconnected the battery the whole night before and the next morning installed everything back on and took it for a long spin about a 40 minute drive and I got the read out when I got back.

Alright guys well the car was doing great and then bam p0175 pops up again I'm at a total loss right now I have fried my brain trying to track this down and still no luck what so ever. But its not as bad as it was still hesitates and stumbles and the idle really goes down now when I turn the ac or defrost on it went down to 500 this am when I turned the defrost on the car. I think I'm going to take it too a shop I really hate to do that but looks like I have no other choice here.

GT, dirty fuel injectors could be giving you a lean condition on one bank. If your tight on dough you can troubleshoot this by just swapping all the injectors side to side. If the problem moves to the other bank then you know its injectors and you need to get them cleaned. If the car has more than 50,000 miles or so and they've never been cleaned they probably need it even if this isn't an injector problem.

Its pretty easy to take the injectors out, there's some youtube videos on it. One thing to look out for, sometimes when you pull them out one of the o-rings pops off, if that happens make sure it didn't fall down the injector hole. It it did use a piece of wire with a short bend on the end to fish it out. Rub some motor oil on the o-rings when you pop them back in.

Also you could still have a vacuum leak even though you don't hear one. I'd squirt around the manifold edges and other places with some carb cleaner or an unlit propane torch and listen for RPM changes.

hmmmm good suggestion I didn't even think of that one yet. I just reset my KAM again and haven't drove it yet I ll get out there first thing in the am and swap the injectors from one side to the other. Ill spray with carb cleaner again and see if anything happens.

Default Check Engine Light 3 Codes

Hey all this is my first post and hopefully with everyone's help my issue will get answered. I purchased a 08 Stang GT a couple months ago with 11k miles on it. The previous owner told me he put a washer or spacer somewhere near the o2 sensor so he would pass emissions. He also said the check engine light may come on because of what he did and said all I have to do is take this spacer out and I should be good. My question is I took my car into a trusted mechanic and the codes they came up with were.

P0159 Oxygen Sensor B2 S2 X1
P0430 Catalyst efficiency B2 x2
P0420 Catalyst efficiency B1 x1

I understand what B2 and S2 and all that means but he also said it was possible for the Oxygen sensor to be tripping the other two. The list of things this guy had professionally done includes. I am also running 93 Octane and he also has Boost a Pump. I am trying to find out where he got it tuned from because I forgot the place he mentioned when I purchased it. The car is mint and was only driven in nice weather so it's hard for me to believe that I need new Catalytic Converters. I am also asking if anyone can recommend a trusted tune/dyno shop I can take it to. I live in Rolling Meadows which is near Arlington Heights. I am hoping with all the work he had done that it's possible when they put things back together things are not in the spot or proper alignment sensor wise.
