What was the exact code you got? I assume its an automatic transmission, correct?

Your sensor probably shorted itself out and died. Most likely just need to replace it and call it a day.

thanks for your answers guys,

and sorry I am late, yea, the car is automatic

the vin number 1FAFP42X53F363604

the problem (according to my mechanic ) is the valve body. I need new one

I found few online but not sure which one , 4R70W 4R75W, and one that said fit mustang and lincon etc.

from my vin , can someone tell me which one to go with , is it ok to go with the lincon one ?
thanks

I don’t see how a mechanical/hydraulic valve body inside the tranny could cause a high input fault in an electronic circuit. Two completely different animals. The computer is expecting some voltage (probably around 5 volts DC) from the sensor but somehow it is considerably higher then that. That indicates a short of some kind.

As for which tranny you have, there should be a sticker or some other kind of indicator on the drivers or passenger side of the transmission above the oil pan that will tell you which tranny you have. Most likely it is a 4R70W, but it could also be an AODE or AOD depending on the year your car was manufactured. They are all very common transmissions that have been used for years in different model fords.
