PI motor questions
I've had my car for quite awhile now, bought it off a little lot, and found out it had a crown vic motor in it. Well the date on the side of the head and valve/cam covers have a sticker dating 01/09/01, it looks to have a pi intake, the intake also had a plastic crossover. I'm just wanting to make sure it's a PI, thanks

When something like this happened to me I found out I had a PI intake manifold but that wasn't good enough for me because I know you can make those fit to a NPI motor.
So what I did was I ran a little hand mirror on the side of the heads too look for the casting number. Driver side is easiest- it's close to the firewall, above the exhaust manifolds. IF your engine is a windsor (that sticker that had the engine date on it will also tell you this) the casting numbers on the side of the heads will say PI, if it's a romeo you will just have to look the casting numbers up.
Now I know for sure it's PI =)
And only the Mustang 4.6 was PI in 99-00. Others didn't get PI until MODEL year 2001.
