I am thinking about putting 1" ,preferably 1and1/2 " wide on the rear of my 2001 Mustang GT.

I don't like them much. I think lowering give a much better appearance.
Not to say they don't have there place , they are great if you need clearance for a overly wide rear tire.

Depends on what size wheels and tires you intend to use with the spacers.

I think on the 94 through 04 1" to 1 1/2" spacers gives the car a much better stance, you will run in to those who say they'er no good, cause vibrations, some have even claimed to have lug nut and stud problems, not the case for me. In fact i think most of those who have had problems were caused by them and not the spacers. If you are going to the track for a little weekend fun take them of and put back on when you get home.

My car (1998 Mustang GT) is lowered 1" with 1 1/2" spacer (on rear only) with Nitto NT555 245/45 ZR17 95W no rub issues no hole shot issues

Yes. On stock wheels and tires, the 1 1/2" spacers should work with no issues. I had some 1" spacers on my car because I assumed that my wheel and tire combo would not clear the brake caliper brackets.

I have 285/35/18s in the rear and 275/35/18s in the front. The spacers were too much and the tires pushed out past the fender enough to make it a bit too far spaced. But it turned out that the spacers were unnecessary anyway. But in the time I used them I had no issues either. No rubbing, no wobbling or vibration.

The key is to use a high quality product (I recommend H&R) and be sure that the mounting surface is perfectly flat and free of rust and other imperfections.

I think the safest spacers are the ones that come with longer wheel studs, they are more a pain to install because you have to switch the stock studs out with the longer ones, but from a safty stand point Id say its worth the extra effort.

The hub centric wheel spacers are an improvement over standard wheel spacers, helping to ensure the wheels are centered on the axles. You'll find several companies offer them, including H&R.

I think Wheel Spacers look great. It really depends on your reasoning for wanting to use them and what size wheel/tire you're going to run. If you need them for clearance issues then that's obviously a must, so that you can run your wheels properly! However, if you just like the look of a flush wheel I don't see a problem with that either. The only time they don't look great is when the user is running a 10.5" wide wheel and a 1.5" spacer, the wheel will stick out way past the fender on a set up like that!
